A group of medical professionals is seeking donations to help care for victims of the Philippines typhoon.

Steve Muth, of Sag Harbor, is the founder of NYCMedics, a nonprofit that deploys medical volunteers to remote and difficult areas in disaster zones. Muth says three of his volunteers just left today for the Philippines to assess the situation. He and seven other medical experts plan to leave Friday, but Muth says they don't have enough money to treat the wounded.

The group is seeking donations to pay for medical supplies, like bandages and antibiotics, to bring to the Philippines.

Muth says 100 percent of donations go directly to buying medical supplies.
