A New York City firefighter from Eastport was laid to rest Wednesday after he died of a stroke while on the job last week.
Family, friends and fellow firefighters gathered at St. John the Evangelist Church in Center Moriches to remember 47-year-old Paul Warhola. Warhola, a 15-year FDNY veteran, was responding to a call last week in Brooklyn when he died. He leaves behind a wife and two teenage children.
?He was funny to be around, a great firefighter, just [a] really good guy ? a good father a good husband, and a good friend,? fellow firefighter Patrick Demic says.
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg attended the funeral.
