After efforts to clean up the sewage and debris left behind after the disastrous water main break on Webster Avenue, local residents can now breathe a little easier thanks to the New York City Emergency Management Department.
Residents like Guba Lopez are more than happy with the positive update. "We were missing the gas and electricity, it was hard," says Lopez.
The New York City Emergency Management Department said that "building management will provide [tenants with] electric cooking plates."
As for the debris, the Department of Environmental Protection subcontractor will continue sewer cleaning and maintenance operations on Webster Avenue. The Red Cross will continue to provide meals to residents of both buildings today through Sunday, Dec. 29.
