New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman says fans of the New York Mets and the New York Yankees hoping to see playoff games should make sure they don't fall for ticket scams.
He says scammers often target major sporting events.
Schneiderman says fans should watch out for ticket prices that seem too good to be true, and should avoid paying by cash or wire transfer in favor of credit cards.
The playoffs start on Tuesday. The Mets are in the playoffs for the first time since 2006, and the Yankees for the first time since 2012.
The teams played each other for the World Series in 2000, with the Yankees winning.
