The Northport community got a leg up on the holiday season Saturday with a celebration that brought the classic film "A Christmas Story" to life.
The ninth annual leg lamp lighting was held at the Northport Hardware Store.
The event has taken on a life of its own, with characters decked out in costumes, including a real-life Ralphie and a fluffy pink bunny.
The crowd counted down until the infamous fishnet-stocking leg lamp was illuminated.
