Friday's nor'easter that brought high winds and heavy rains to Long Island also turned parts of the south shore into a flood zone.
Island Park residents blame a faulty sewer system and a high, new moon tide for salt water flooding the south shore. Jessica Rasulo, of Island Park, says the canal that runs through the area causes salt water to flood properties and erode cars and home foundations.
Patrick McDermid from Island Park says his truck was in "two feet of water" around 8:00 a.m. Saturday.
