A Lake Grove family is beginning their mission to give back in memory of their loved one.

The nonprofit Noah's Smile held its first-ever event this month in memory of Noah Sagistano.

He died in 2023 after his third open-heart surgery.

Noah's Smile is dedicated to helping children facing serious illnesses and their families.

"When someone donates, it's like, 'Wow, you thought of my son today,' and that's the best feeling in the world," said Ashley Sagistano.

Noah's Smile will host a fundraiser on Jan. 20 at On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina in Holtsville.

News 12 was told 20% of the proceeds from restaurant sales will go to the nonprofit.
