It was a hero?s homecoming for marines returning from war to the open arms of their Long Island families. Seven Marines of the 20 Alpha Company, 6th Communication Battalion returned from Iraq. Janet Poirier of East Meadow welcomed home her son Anthony with a handmade poster and a homemade meal. For Adam Dumelle, of Stony Brook, his second deployment in Iraq was a 7-month stint. However, he says the cause was worth the effort; ?It's worth the sacrifice because we're giving the people over in another country, in the Middle East, the chance to have the life we're having.? Dumelle's parents could not contain their excitement: ?It's great. I can't believe he's back. I'm in heaven.? Some of the Marines may have to return to Iraq for another tour of duty. For now, they say they're focusing on spending time with their loved ones.
