Some Freeport football players got a special opportunity Saturday to learn from former NFL player and Freeport High School graduate Morlon Greenwood.
Greenwood received a full scholarship to Syracuse University, and was then drafted by the Miami Dolphins. He went on to play with the Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders during his career as a linebacker.
He says he's come back to the community that has given him so much to host the second annual Symposium and Football Camp through the Morlon Greenwood Foundation.
Greenwood and his business partner Robert T. Green, who also graduated from Freeport High School, say this year's camp also addressed the growing heroin epidemic on Long Island.
They say athletes can't reach their full potential if they are on drugs.
"If you do things the right way and have the right frame of mind, you can accomplish any goal," says Green.
