The Islanders could be a step closer to returning to the Nassau Coliseum while their new home is built in Elmont.
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman toured the Uniondale facility with Islanders owner John Ledecky and County Executive Laura Curran Tuesday, according to Newsday.
The tour was designed to find out if improvements can be made to bring some home games to the venue.
The Islanders will eventually be relocated to a new arena at Belmont Park.
