State police say three teens were killed when an SUV carrying 10 people, including an infant, overturned multiple times Friday on the Meadowbrook Parkway.

Investigators say a 15-year-old girl was behind the wheel of the packed Chevrolet Trailblazer, which had been reported stolen yesterday. Witnesses say the vehicle was driving erratically and traveling at high speeds before the driver lost control.

Police say the vehicle flipped multiple times before it came to rest in a marshy area off of the parkway near Exit M9.

Three occupants who were not wearing seatbelts were ejected from the SUV, according to state police. They were pronounced dead.

The other occupants were injured, police say. Video from the scene shows some of the survivors walking to awaiting ambulances.

Police say an 18-month-old child was among the vehicle's occupants, and the rest were teens. The driver and her child were among the survivors.

News 12 spoke over the phone to the father of one of three teens killed. He said he was at a loss for words. He told News 12 that the SUV the teens were driving was his and that he has no idea where they were going.

Police told News 12 that the SUV was stolen from Roosevelt, but the victim's father said it was taken from his driveway in Uniondale. He says he reported it stolen yesterday and had no idea that his son or one of his son's friends had the car.

It's unclear where the group of teens was headed or why the driver was speeding. 

Southbound lanes on the parkway reopened Friday evening, seven hours after the fatal crash.
