Donald Trump's support on Long Island appears to be slipping, according to a recent News 12/Hofstra poll.
The poll found that 46 percent of voters now say they would vote for Hillary Clinton if the election was held today. Thirty-five percent of those polled were with Trump. The same poll had the candidates in a dead heat last month.
Political consultant David Chauvin says the poll results are surprising.
"I was a little surprised that Long Island would vote for a Democrat for president. There's a long tradition since 1992, specifically in Nassau County, but month to month, a 10-point shift is seismic in the political world," he says.
