New Yorkers ready to cast their vote for this year’s primary elections

New York state’s primary elections are Tuesday, with many state residents ready to cast their votes.
New York is one of eight states hosting their primary elections and have number of seats on the ballot, including governor, lieutenant governor, judgeships and assembly members.
Democratic voters have three choices for gubernatorial candidate: Current governor, Gov. Kathy Hochul, Rep. Tom Suozzi and New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams. On the Republican side, voters have four choices, including Rep. Lee Zeldin, businessman and the son of Hary Wilson, Andrew Giuliani and Rob Astorino who ran for governor in 2014.
Polls statewide will open at 6 a.m. Tuesday and are set to close at 9 p.m. Those casting votes via absentee ballot, Tuesday is the last day for you to submit those as well.
The second set of primaries are set for Aug. 23.
