Gov. Kathy Hochul announced new tax credits and subsidies for affordable units and senior homes.

More than $31 million is going to Nassau County to redevelop public housing in Hempstead and to fund a senior housing project in Freeport.

Suffolk County is set to get over $25 million for a housing project in Brookhaven and to build on empty land in Riverhead.
