Long Island's third Sonic Drive-In location is set to open Monday.

The latest location is opening in East Meadow.

Opponents resisted the restaurant's opening for six years, after the opening of another drive-in in North Babylon was met with long lines and traffic jams along Deer Park Avenue.

Plans are in the works to open two additional restaurants in Nesconset and Riverhead.
