Researchers found that drinking wine with a meal is effective at reducing the risk of diabetes because of all the antioxidants that the wine contains.
However, researchers say the wine must be accompanied with a meal and in moderation, as opposed to sipping Cabernet at cocktail hour.
The 'Moderate Alcohol Drinking With Meals Is Related To Lower Incidence Of Type 2 Diabetes,' study was presented by researchers, Hao Ma, Tulane University, Metairie, LA; Xuan Wang, New Orleans, LA; Xiang Li, Tulane University, New Orleans, LA; Yoriko Heianza, Lu Qi, Tulane University, New Orleans, LA at the American Heart Associations' Epidemiology and Prevention Lifestyle and Cardiometabolic Health Conference in Chicago last week.
