Some struggling, working families in Suffolk County will soon be paying less for child care.

A new grant will allow about 300 Suffolk families to contribute about 10 percent less to their child care costs.

Officials say the average family will save about $583 a year.

Only working families who are at or slightly above the poverty level are eligible.

The change will go into effect in March.
