The latest pop-up effort to get people vaccinated on Long Island opens Friday.
A new vaccine clinic will begin servicing people at the Northwell Health off Marcus Avenue in New Hyde Park.
Walk-ins are welcome, and shots will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The site was chosen as part of an ongoing program from the state to provide shots to the New York ZIP codes with vaccination rates far below the state average.
New York's COVID-19 vaccine dashboard says just 20.4% of people within the 11042 ZIP code have gotten at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose.
According to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Long Island as a whole has the state's highest vaccination rate.
