The three men accused of rape and robbery at a park in Greenlawn last week are facing new charges.Justin McDonald, 18, of Greenlawn, and brothers Anthony and Patrick Minkeson pleaded not guilty Thursday to a rarely used predatory sexual assault charge that could mean 25 years to life. Prosecutors are calling the rape especially vicious and brutal.Police say the suspects jumped two men and a woman last week as they were leaving Frazer Park. According to police, the men were tied up and robbed and the woman was raped four times.
Assistant District Attorney Elena Tomaro says the teens were carrying baseball bats and a handgun during the attack. Prosecutors say they also have a confession in the case. The Minkeson brothers have also been charged with a robbery and assault of a Laundromat attendant in December. Tomaro says prosecutors uncovered the brothers? connection to the assault while investigating the Frazer Park rape. The Minkesons allegedly punched the female attendant in the face, threw her to the ground, dragged her to the cash register and stole some money.
The three suspects are each being held on $1 million bail.
