A new cancer research facility opened Thursday at Stony Brook University.
The Bahl Center for Metabolomics and Imaging Research Center will examine cancer on a cellular level.
The center is named after Kavita and Lalit Bahl, of Setauket, who donated a $13 million grant to Stony Brook.
The research facility will look into new ways to treat cancer using state-of-the-art technology.
