Neighbors say two Kings Park processing yards have not been abiding by temporary restraining orders to shut down operations following complaints from neighbors.

The Town of Smithtown secured the restraining orders, and says properties of KPEII and JezCo on Old Northport Road and Lawrence Road are only zoned for residential or light industry.

The restraining orders followed complaints by neighbors over the traffic, noise and pollution from the sites. Despite the orders, neighbors say they have photographed heavy trucks coming and going from the sites.

An attorney representing KPEII told News 12 Long Island that there was a modification to the court order allowing the owner to remove materials from the site. Neighbors insist the yards are continuing business as usual.

Smithtown's town attorney says he'll return to court in November to make sure the yards are complying with the zoning requirements.
