Mother's Day may have been a washout, but the wet weather couldn't stop Long Islanders from celebrating moms at a special Mother's Day brunch in Jericho.

Close to 1,000 moms celebrated their motherhood at the historic Milleridge Inn in Jericho.

Tracy Nigrom, of East Rockaway, says she appreciates the special moments with her family.

“It's nice to celebrate my mom, she's with us and it's great to be together and it's fun here,” she says.

Managers at Milleridge Inn say it's nice to see generations of moms at the event, making it part of their annual tradition.

“You have to treat your mom right, it's your mom. This is the place to bring her, we serve great food and we have a great atmosphere here,” says Butch Yamali, of Milleridge Inn.
