Dozens of Navy midshipmen have arrived in Freeport Thursday morning on board their sailboats coming from Annapolis, Maryland.
The arrival of the tall ships is a summer tradition that dates back about two decades. During their stay, the midshipmen will be part of a summer sailing training class.
The midshipmen will stay until Saturday, where they will take part in a parade marking the 125th anniversary of the Freeport Fire Department.
The Navy will march in the parade down the Nautical Mile before an evening fireworks display.
