A frantic newlywed was reunited with her missing rings thanks to a do-gooder with a heart of gold.
Angela Lamagna, of West Babylon, took off her wedding band and engagement ring Friday while she was trying on clothes in a Kohl's dressing room. When she realized the next morning that she had forgot them, she says she was "freaking out."
"I didn't think I'd ever see them," she recalls. She says it took her husband 14 years to get the engagement ring for her.
Meanwhile, Massapequa Park mom Jacquie Sullivan was sifting through the racks at Kohl's in search of a sweet 16 dress for her daughter. Instead, she found a sparkly, one-carat surprise.
"I didn't really want to bring them to customer service because, God forbid, you never know," Sullivan says.
As LaMagna turned to social media for help finding her rings, Sullivan did the same by turning to a popular Facebook group called "Moms in Massapequa."
Several degrees of separation eventually connected the two for a teary-eyed reunion on Sunday. Sullivan returned the rings, and Lamagna and her husband brought Sullivan a bouquet of flowers to say thanks.
As Lamanga slipped her rings back on, her husband suggested a way to prevent further mishaps: glue.
