The Nassau Police Department is immediately scrapping codes a civil rights group says are derogatory.
The New York Civil Liberties Union found police internal spreadsheets denote Asian officers with the letter "Y,” apparently for yellow and American-Indians with an "I.”
The NYCLU says it raises questions about the way the police think of the communities they are sworn to protect.
