Local authorities are exercising extra caution in wake of two mass shootings in less than 24 hours.
On Saturday, at least 20 people were killed during a mass shooting in Texas. Another shooting Sunday left at least 9 dead in Ohio.
Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder says the gunman in Dayton, Ohio was likely a copycat killer who could have inspired someone else
Police were on high alert during India Day Parade in Hicksville on Sunday.
Officials are asking people to reach out to law enforcement if they suspect that someone is violent or if something looks suspicious.
Officials stressed that despite the extra cautiousness, there is no specific threat to Long Island.
