A state labor panel has announced the delay in the body camera program after a complaint from the Nassau County police union.
The Nassau PBA says the department violated state law by not including how the cameras would be implemented into their discussions.
The department announced back in May that it would conduct a year long body camera pilot program.
Nassau County Police Commissioner Thomas Krumpter tells News 12 "Once the matter is resolved, a formal Department Memorandum of Agreement, will be presented to the Nassau County Legislature for consideration."
News 12 made repeated calls to the head of the Nassau PBA James Carver, but did not hear back from him.
