Police say a driver was arrested early Sunday morning for DWI following a crash on the Northern State Parkway in Old Westbury.

The two-vehicle collision backed up traffic on the roadway for hours. It happened just before 6 a.m. in the westbound lanes near Exit 31.

New York State Police say the injured motorist was arrested at the scene and charged with driving while intoxicated.

Several lanes were closed due to the crash. They have since reopened.
