The Nassau County PBA is launching an ad campaign against what it calls the ?shadow government? of Newsday?s editorial board.
PBA President Gary DelaRaba says Newsday isn?t playing fair after editorials critical of police pay, policy and benefits. DelaRaba says he has submitted more than a dozen rebuttals in the last two years, but all were rejected. Newsday officials say it?s because the responses were inaccurate.
The PBA has begun running $20,000 a week TV ads against the editorial board. The campaign also includes the PBA Web site, mailings and phone calls.
