Nassau officers who stopped person firing gun in North Bellmore honored as 'top cops'

Officers Tristian Alfano and Brendan Sloan were the first at the scene and used their cruiser to stop the suspect.

Two Nassau officers were honored as the county's "top cops" Monday for their response to a person firing a gun in North Bellmore.
The incident happened in August when a person was waving and firing a weapon on a busy intersection.
Officers Tristian Alfano and Brendan Sloan were the first at the scene and used their cruiser to stop the suspect.
Both officers were presented citations for their bravery by the Nassau County Legislature.
