Officials say more than two dozen Nassau police officers are joining hundreds of other officers for a 225-mile bike ride.

Today, the officers began their ride from the 9/11 Memorial in Manhattan to Washington, D.C. on a special unity tour. 

Their four-day journey raises millions to help the families of officers killed in the line of duty.
