One of the most iconic chocolatiers in the world is being sued by a man from Nassau County.
Christopher Lazazzaro claims in a proposed class-action suit filed this week that Hershey failed to disclose the presence of heavy metals in its dark chocolate.
The plaintiff cited recent research by Consumer Reports that alleged the presence of substances such as lead and cadmium.
Lazazzaro is seeking at least $5 million in damages.
Hershey has declined to comment so far.
