Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman announced Wednesday that the county is launching a new campaign to restock food pantries between now and Christmas.

It's part of a collaboration with NBA star Enes Kanter and TV personality Emily Austin.

Long Island Cares officials say they are now seeing between 300,000 and 325,000 Long Islanders struggling to put food on their tables.

Nassau County will be collecting nonperishable food items through Dec. 25.

"If you can afford it, give some food and you will make somebody's holiday season that much happier," says Blakeman.
