Billionaire developers Charles Wang and Scott Rechler met with the Nassau County Legislature in Mineola Thursday to answer questions about the redevelopment of the Nassau Coliseum and surrounding areas.
Wang and Rechler addressed mass transit and traffic issues, cost-of-living problems and high tax concerns relating to the proposed $1.6 billion project officials hope will be an economic engine for Nassau. Wang called the Coliseum the worst sports arena in North America, while Rechler asked the Legislature for bi-partisan cooperation.
The Legislature and the town of Hempstead still must approve the plan.
