Nassau Executive Curran announces reelection run, touts achievements since entering office

Curran says she has improved government services, passed three budgets without a property tax increase and made Nassau the safest county in America.

Nassau County Executive Laura Curran has officially announced her campaign for reelection.
Curran made the announcement surrounded by supporters, while also releasing a video called "Leadership Through It All," highlighting her accomplishments through the pandemic.
Curran says she has improved government services, passed three budgets without a property tax increase and made Nassau the safest county in America.
Hempstead Town Councilman Bruce Blakeman is due to run against the incumbent this November.
The 65-year-old Republican from Atlantic Beach served as the first presiding officer in the Nassau Legislature in the 1990s.
