9h agoNassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman handed out animatronic pets to seniors in Uniondale on Friday.
The robotic dogs and cats are designed to bring comfort and companionship, and help to improve emotional, mental and social health.
"It's really an ingenious invention...," Blakeman said.
The state Department of Aging donated the pets to A. Holly Paterson Extended Care Facility.
