A Freeport man had over 5 pounds of cocaine inside boxes wrapped to look like birthday presents, according to the Nassau County district attorney.
Anne Donnelly says over $180,000 worth of drugs was found in 34-year-old Elson Forestier's home during a search in May. Prosecutors also say they found over $12,000 in cash.
Prosecutors say the cocaine was concealed in the empty packing of children's construction block sets.
Forestier was arraigned Wednesday for allegedly operating as a major trafficker.
The 34-year-old is due back in court on Aug. 23.
If convicted, he faces up to 25 years in prison.
