Both of Long Island's county executives says preparations are underway for the fifth snowstorm to hit us this winter season.
"This is going to be another slow-moving storm, that's headed our way. We're expecting between 4 to 9 inches here in Nassau County. The snow is expected to start falling tomorrow morning, right on time for the morning commute, and it will continue to fall through the afternoon," says Nassau Executive Laura Curran.
Curran says some coronavirus vaccination appointments at county-run sites on Thursday and Friday will be rescheduled for next week.
However, Curran says she expects weekend appointments to go on as scheduled.
Curran and Suffolk Executive Steve Bellone also urged residents to stay home and avoid driving during the snowstorm.
"So if you can work virtually, you can stay home," says Bellone. "We certainly advise that and if not then expect that it could be a tough commute."
Curran says Nassau saw too many road accidents during the season's other storms.
