The MTA and unions were at the table all day Thursday but a source told News 12 both sides are nowhere close to a deal.

The source also says both sides are making adjustments during these talks which will continue talks through the night. The main issue remains about year four of the contract.

The MTA is offering a 3% raise while union leaders continue pushing for at least 4.5%, which is recommended by the Presidential Emergency Board.

Both sides are expected to return to the negotiating table again Friday and if no agreement is reached then, the strike could begin as early as Saturday at 12:01 a.m.
