308ds agoThe MTA is now offering discount beach packages to encourage people to take the LIRR.
In a YouTube post, the MTA said, "Ditch the car, ditch the traffic, ride with us to all of the many places and outdoor activities our beautiful island has to offer, including these beaches the Long Island Rail Road can get you to."
The packages go for as little as $18 and include a round-trip ticket from LIRR stations as well as bus, ferry and beach admission.
