MTA: Car ends up across both tracks west of Wyandanch LIRR station

Repairs were completed on the broken rail and full service resumed at 4:10 a.m., MTA officials say.

Officials say a car crashed into the tracks of the Long Island Rail Road in Wyandanch, shutting down service overnight.
Officials responded to the scene around 10:10 p.m. Sunday.
LIRR service was initially suspended between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma stations and buses were requested to supplement service.
The vehicle was removed around 11:40 p.m. and partial service was restored on the Ronkonkoma branch while crews continued to make repairs to the damaged rail.
Repairs were completed and full service resumed at 4:10 a.m., MTA officials say.
There were no commuter injuries reported.
The driver of the vehicle was the only occupant and sustained minor injuries, officials say.
