An MS-13 gang member was sentenced Wednesday for his role in the 2017 death of a Brentwood man.
Jose Suarez was found guilty in May of playing a role in the death of a man thought to be a rival gang member.
Esteban Alvarado-Bonilla, of Brentwood was gunned down in January 2017 at the El Campesino deli because he was wearing the number 18 jersey of NFL star Peyton Manning.
The number 18 is believed to be favored by the 18th Street gang.
Prosecutors say Suarez drove the shooter to and from the deli.
He faces a mandatory sentence of life behind bars.
