A Mount Sinai man is accused of shooting three of his neighbor's cats with a pellet gun.

Police say they were called to Puritan Avenue around 9 a.m. Thursday.

Residents say they noticed the cats limping and called police.

One of the cats had to be euthanized and the other two were treated for their injuries.

After an investigation, 72-year-old Clifford Nagel was arrested.

He's charged with aggravated animal cruelty.
