(10/17/06) MEDFORD ? Controversial roadway Woodside Avenue claimed another life in Medford on Monday.Police say 20-year-old Joey Grandinetti was riding his motorcycle when he slammed into an SUV and skidded into traffic. They say they have not determined if Grandinetti was speeding, but say the 45 mph speed limit on Woodside Avenue is often overlooked by motorists. In March of 2002 four people, three of whom were teenagers, died only half a mile away from Grandinetti?s accident. Police say speed was a factor in the 2002 accident. A Suffolk traffic study recently recommended the road be converted to one lane in each direction. The study also suggests a center median filled with trees be constructed. Suffolk legislators say they expect the project to begin next year.
