Motorcyclist critically injured in St. James crash

Police are investigating a crash that critically injured a motorcyclist in St. James.
According to police, Steven Perrone, 34, was operating a motorcycle eastbound on Route 25A near Acorn Road when the motorcycle left the roadway and crashed into a guardrail around 11:30 p.m.
Steven Perrone, of East Setauket, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is in critical condition.
The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check.
