Across Long Island, families spent last week finding the perfect gift to celebrate mom. Flowers, jewelry, clothing and gift cards are all at the top of the list.
While all of these are among top sellers, moms tell News 12 what they really want for Mother’s Day are things that money just cannot buy.
Lennae Adams from Hempstead says it isn’t the material things that she wants.
“Family time,” says Adams. “I’d rather spend quality time with family.”
Westbury resident Lydia Portalatin shared a similar sentiment.
“To see my daughters, be with my grandchildren,” says Portalatin. “I thank God that as old as I am, that I’m still here to watch them grow.”
Debbie Sabella from North Massapequa wants everyone to be healthy.
“For there to be peace in the world and good times and fun for everyone,” says Sabella.
“For my kids and everyone to be happy,” says Alissa Kirk from Great Neck. “Health, happiness and peacefulness.”
Family time, good health and happiness are the priceless gifts moms would like.
