More ritualistic animal killings were discovered in Suffolk Thursday morning.
Officials say three chickens were found beheaded and plucked of their feathers in Riverhead.
The remains were discovered in two black plastic garbage bags, according to SPCA Chief Roy Gross.
As News 12 has reported, three goats were found beheaded on the Otis Pike Preserve in Riverhead three weeks ago.
The Suffolk County SPCA says the Riverhead incidents are not isolated. They say they've seen an uptick in the number of ritualistic killings across the county. Earlier this year, they found a mutilated chicken and rooster hanging upside from a tree, along with the tongue of a cow.
The Suffolk SPCA is posting a flier across the county and is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Suffolk SPCA at 631-382-7722.
