In today's Month of Green segment, New 12 Long Island's Elizabeth Hashagen took a trip to the grocery store to look for ways to keep your family and the planet healthy.
When it comes to your fruit, the best way to go green is to buy local. Look for signs that let you know your food didn't have to travel far - the less it travels, the less impact it has on our planet.
When shopping for eggs, look for the USDA Organic label. And try to find antibiotic free, hormone free and cage free eggs.
