With so many businesses coming back strong and looking forward to a big summer, we're highlighting them in our "Mondays on Main Street" series.
Ron Iannacone, of the Northport Chamber of Commerce, says there is nothing like summer in Northport. After a less active summer last year, business owners and residents alike are looking forward to a much better season.
Iannacone says the best thing about Northport is people can come from anywhere and spend a whole day there. He says you'll have plenty of meal choices, a museum and shops to visit and a beautiful harbor to just sit and watch boats go by.
Iannacone says Northport will have live music in some form over the summer and Cow Harbor Day in September.
Another mainstay is the Northport Farmers Market, which takes place every Saturday through the fall. It almost didn't take place last summer, sparking a petition from its biggest supporters.
At the Engeman Theater, they will bring a different kind of live show back to their stage this summer. Tickets go on sale for their summer concert series Monday. They're preparing to reopen their main stage in September.
