Hundreds of Long Islanders spent their Sunday giving back to the community.
The annual Mitzvah Day was held at Temple Sinai of Roslyn. More than 600 volunteers came out to make sandwiches for the homeless, collect and organize clothing for those in need, and donate blood.
"We get together every year to do good deeds, to really help out in the community and to do our part to make our world a better place," says Rabbi Andy Gordon.
Younger members of the community did their part by making Passover cards.
